1. Fill out an Outreach Application

Go to the Sign-Up page and fill in your information and the trip you would like to go on.

A informational letter and an application will be sent by email to you. Print, fill out and mail back the application and the medical release form to Project Compassion.

If you are a first time applicant, there is a one time fee of $50 dollars to process your application.

2. Trip Acceptance Verification

Project Compassion will notify you of team acceptance once your application has been reviewed and your $50 deposit has been received. You then need to send in a $300 non-refundable deposit to secure your spot on the team.

3. Trip Preparation

Project Compassion will secure flights from San Diego; however we are often able to fly team members to meet the team at a transfer flight at no extra cost. We will let you know at the time of acceptance to the team. Project Compassion will prepare all in country travel, accommodations and meals, clinic itineraries, and some sightseeing.

We are responsible for all governmental consular clearances and provide the team with supplies for treatments and all pharmaceuticals. We will ask you to check on one suitcase of such supplies when we leave the US airport and you will be informed of the contents of your assigned bag.

You are responsible for ensuring you have your passport, that it has 6 blank pages and the expiration date is greater than six months after we return from the trip. For information on obtaining a passport, log on to http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738_2.html.

A few months before the trip you will receive a  packet of information including a rough itinerary with emergency contact information to leave with loved ones and what items you will need to pack with you.

4. Trip Cost

Trip costs cover airfare and all in-country transportation, accommodations, most meals in country, travelers insurance, some sightseeing, a team shirt, and 8 x 10 team photo on return. We also provide the medical supplies and pharmaceuticals the clinic will be using.

If a visa is necessary for the country of your choice, we will inform you and assist in securing it prior to leaving the US. On occasion there is an additional fee from the host embassy.

Countless trips have been paid for by raising support. If you would like more information on how to go about doing that please feel free to contact the office and we will provide you with some helpful suggestions.

Please inform those donating to your trip to include a note that the funds are for you. Your supporters can send in donations to the office by check or simply go on line and donate with Visa or MasterCard. You will not be eligible to participate if the minimum donation is not met.

The trips incur expenses greater than those contained herein, and that is why this is stated as a minimum requirement. We request your assistance in helping us raise funds for all the trip.

5. And you’re off!

Project Compassion works with in-country missionaries many months in advance of our arrival. Much care goes into making each outreach a success. We are excited that you are accepting the challenge of meeting people in developing nations to share your love and compassion. Even though each outreach is different, the common thread is that people respond to God’s love through his people.
