San Pedro Sula Honduras 2018

Revised Date: April 17-24, 2018

His Hands for Honduras: God's hands and feet for His children in Honduras

Project Compassion has been invited to provide a medical mission trip to the Honduras in early 2018. We will be working with the organization His Hands for Honduras, one of twelve programs in His Hand Support Ministries, which works in many countries helping

the Third World populations. In 2012, a partnership was formed between HHH and the Cristo Centro Church in Honduras.

Pastors Gregorio Medina, Mario Arriaga and Lesly Mendez, with their spouses, run the churches in Zolano, Nueva Florida and Rio Blanco. They have worked with HHH to develop a child and/or senior sponsorship program, helping to feed these individuals spiritually and  physically, and to educate in the public school. Each community has a population of about 5,000 and is located close to San Pedro Sula in Honduras.

Map of HondurasHonduras is located in Central America with the ocean on two sides of the country. It is vulnerable to natural disasters and extreme weather conditions that can greatly affect the crops and living condition of its people. Hondurans are very hard workers and invest their entire life to making a living and keeping their families fed.

Our hosts will be Don and Lori Hughes of San Diego. They lived in Honduras for one year from 2009-2010. They now travel from San Diego to Honduras 2-3 times a year assisting HHH with the children’s and senior’s sponsorship program. They will have us working with the three churches plus local families to provide medical care and spiritual support. The staff members are all volunteers. PC will plan to do one day clinics in the four sites.

The trip dates are April 17-24, 2018. The weather during January is at its best, not too hot or humid. The cost for this trip is $2,200 per person. We are still looking into the airfares which generally affect the trip cost the most. We will plan for a beach outing at the end of the week after the clinics are finished to enjoy the beautiful scenery of this Central American country. Please plan to join us on this trip; there will be a limited number of team members.
